My name is Muireann O'Riordan, I have currently received a First Class Honours in a B.A. Honours degree in Fashion Design, Limerick School of Art and Design, Limerick Institute of Technology.
I am skilled in Illustator, Photoshop and Indesign, Word, Excel and Powerpoint. I have a great interest in researching fashion collections and researching trend forecasts. I have a keen attention to detail and an excellent understanding of garment construction and the fitting process. I have an excellent knowledge at completing tech packs, drawing accurate technical drawings on Illustrator, collecting relevant information from team members, and collate into tech specs in excel.
During the pandemic after recieving my BA in Fashion Design, I than participated in an exciting and creatively driven Experimental Fashion Design course in Central Saint Martins's where I challenged and exercised my skills. I interned at Marques'Almeidda in which I was there from the start of the design process of Spring 2020 to when the collection was manufactured and sent to the Paris showrooms. I have three years of intense training and development of my skill-set, preparing me for the fashion industry from studing at the Limerick Institute of Technology under the fashion department head lecturer Anne Melinn.
I also have completed two dissertations on the different textile and clothing manufacturing processes used in the fashion industry. The first essay was focused on how sustainable and ethical the manufacturing processes of leather are. The second essay was focused on how sustainable and ethical the manufacturing processes of denim are. Researching and analyzing the available ethical and sustainable alternatives to the traditional manufacturing processes for the leather and denim.
